RIEDL VILLA
ENGLISH
You’ve arrived at one of the most unique spots in the Burda hills.
The Riedl Villa once stood here – today, only ruins remain.
In the late 1800s, Kováčov began to develop as a resort area.
A restaurant and a grand hotel were built, attracting more and more visitors. The villa was constructed during this time.
Then came World War I.
The area became part of Czechoslovakia, and the villa was taken over by soldiers.
In 1926, it burned down.
Its walls stood until the 1960s… then disappeared completely.
Now it’s up to you to imagine it.
